আমার স্ত্রী সবসময় ভালো কিছু রান্না করলে সেইটা সবার আগে আমার মেয়ে রোজা'কে খেতে দেয়। এই যেমন ধরেন বড় মাছ রান্না করলে আমার মেয়েকে সে বড় বড় পিছ গুলো আগে খেতে দিবে। আর মাছের মাথাটা সবসময় ওর জন্য রেখে দিবে। এমন না যে আমাদের এক মাত্র মেয়ে রোজা? আমাদের আরেকটা ছেলে আছে নাম আয়াত। আর তাছাড়া আমাদের সাথে বাবা মা'ও থাকেন। এই বিষয়টা আমি তেমন একটা খেয়াল করিনি তবে একদিন আমার আম্মু'কে দেখছি আমার স্ত্রী সুমির সাথে চেচামেচি করছে। আর বলছে মেয়ে মানুষদের এত খায়িয়ে জিবআহা বড় করতে নেই? আর তাছাড়া মেয়ে মানুষ সবসময় কম খাবে কম চাহিদা থাকবে। পাশের বাড়ির শ্রুতি শ্বশুর বাড়িতে গিয়ে বেশি খায় এই জন্য কত বদনাম রেটেছে তুমি জানো? দেখো বৌ'মা তোমাকে কতবার বলেছি সবসময় আয়াতকে ভালোভাবে খায়িয়ে তারপর রোজা'কে খাওয়াবে। আয়াতে সবসময় বড় বড় মাছের পিছ গুলা দিবে। আর মুরগির রান গুলা আয়াতকে খেতে দিবে। কি বলেছি তুমি বুঝতে পারছো তো? সুমি চুপচাপ দাঁড়িয়ে থেকে কথাগুলো শুনছে তেমন কোনো উত্তর দেয়নি। রাতে আমি শুয়ে আছি তখন আমার স্ত্রী এসে বলছে। আগামীকাল বাসায় আসার সময় বড় দেখে একটা ইলিশ মাছ আনিয়েন। কেনো বড় ইলিশ মাছ দিয়ে কি করবে? খ...
